Paul Dickson giving a tour at Norwich Market

Why do you take part in Heritage Open Days?

I really enjoy taking part in a festival, helping to celebrate Norwich and Norfolk's history and heritage.

What does your job involve?

I am a tour guide leading tours in Norwich and the Norfolk Broads.

What do you like best about your role?

It's great to be outside and meeting lots of new people; especially visitors on their first trip to Norwich.  Visitors are always bowled over by the city and I hope that I help to encourage them to visit again.

What is special to you about Norfolk?

It is such a beautiful county. I love getting out into the fresh air and going for a walk. I particularly enjoy walking along the Bure opposite St Benet's Abbey - wonderful countryside and top heritage combined.

What do visitors gain from taking part in Heritage events?

They get an insight into a what a special county Norfolk is - history, heritage and fascinating stories round every corner.
