The Norfolk Naval Pillar

Known locally as Nelson’s Monument, it was completed in 1817 and is a tribute to the life and achievements of Vice-Admiral Lord Nelson. Climb the 217 steps to take in the break taking view from the top.

Norfolk Wherry Trust

Visit the Norfolk Wherry Trust boatyard, home of Albion, a 125 year old 'black-sailed' trading wherry. It remains only one of two trading wherries still sailing today.

Join us at this Roman site where you can follow a specially designed trail that brings ancient times to life. Along the way, you’ll find storyboards with fascinating details about Roman engineering and daily life, plus friendly guides ready to answer your questions.

Tolhouse Gaol

Tolhouse Street, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2SH

Once home to pirates, robbers, murderers, and those accused of witchcraft, witchcraft, this formidable building has a turbulent past. Originally built as a merchant’s house over 800 years ago, it later became a courtroom, a town gaol with a notorious dungeon, and even a police station.
